Today, we are proud to feature Lucía, an energetic student from Spain who spent two and a half months on her Erasmus+ internship transforming the guest experience on the sun-soaked shores of Paphos, Cyprus.
Stationed at the vibrant Leonardo Laura Beach & Splash Resort, Lucía proved that a great animator doesn’t just entertain—they lead, adapt, and inspire.
Lucía jumped headfirst into a dynamic role within the hotel’s Animation Department. Her days were a high-energy mix of youth engagement, professional sports coordination, and main-stage performance:
The Kids Club Anchor: Creating a welcoming, safe, and imaginative space for the resort's youngest travelers through organized crafts and supervised games.
The Sports Coordinator: Fueling the daytime energy by organizing and hosting daily tournaments for adult guests, from high-stakes matches of football, volleyball, and water polo to lively sessions of aqua noodles, darts, and ping pong.
Evening Showstopper: Shifting into the spotlight at night to help coordinate and host resort-wide events, dances, interactive games, and live performances.
Lucía made sure to treat the beautiful island of Cyprus as her personal classroom and playground. During her days off, she packed her schedule with unforgettable travel experiences:
Cultural & Nature Discovery: Swapping the coast for the dramatic Cyprus mountain trails, wandering through traditional local villages, and enjoying the vibrant coastal city life of Limassol.
A Thrilling Highlight: Satisfying her inner adrenaline junkie by taking to the tracks for an exciting afternoon of go-karting with her international team.
A two-and-a-half-month internship in a busy resort is a powerful fast-track for professional development. Lucía returned to Spain with an entirely upgraded toolkit of "soft skills" that will set her apart in any future career:
